Makeup in the past.

Hey guys!
So If your on this blog you are probably wondering where beauty comes from.
Cosmetics all started in Egypt with Cleopatra using different earthly resources to make her makeup. It has now spreaded all over the world to all countries.


But back in the ancient times makeup wasn't used primarily to make yourself look pretty it was actually used for rituals in humans more than 6000 years ago.
In this blog I will be talking about four countries: Europe, China , Middle East and Egypt.  In this first blog I will be talking about Egypt.

Egypt:

 In Egypt they used kohl as eye liner on their eyes. They also found jars that resembled setting lotion. It was made using beeswax and resin. To get the blue eye shadow colour they crushed up lapis lazuli to make the blue shadow colour. The Egyptians used facial makeup by using stains on the cheeks and lips which was made from a substance called red ochre. Its a naturally coloured clay which was mined and washed. It was then dried to create the red pigmentation.
